You can only have one web domain on a server. Index.html is the home page. If you overwrite it the first one will be gone.

I am pretty sure this is due to Windows and before it, DOS, only permitting 3 letter extensions. Macs have always allowed for 4 letter extensions. They are the same thing.

actually, you can, the one without the .html is a folder with a index.html file inside

for example when you go to yahoo.com it opens the root folder and looks for a index.html if it finds one it opens it but it does not add the full path in the address bar, which makes it look like http://www.yahoo.com

you can do this with any folder you make by adding a index.html

In server programming languages you can use queries in the address bar that eliminate the need for individual pages. When you are on allot of websites you will notice a ? after the address, anything after this ? is a query which is in the form of a GET command. You can use a script on the page to make sense of the information after the ? and then redirect to a file. In some languages you can also hide the extension of a file altogether and instead of index.php just have index/, these of addresses can be made using a .htaccess file

this example should result in an exceedingly simple page layout, with a header graphic, an area for your body text, and a section reserved for your footer (copywrite, whatever). You can experiment with making changes to CSS to make modifications to the layout. Things like changing the font, font size, text color, background color, size, positioning, etc, all of these are easily accomplished with CSS. Just take off the .html after the file extension, and the file will be a .rar. never ran into this before but had a .rar.rar, sometimes computers do things that make sense and theres no good reason of why they did it.

The best way to do it is to write a 404 error handler page in whatever scripting language the server and point the 404 handler to it. A 404 error is generated when the server cannot find the page corresponding to the requested URL. The 404 page can take the URL that the browser requests, parse it and translate it to whatever real page is required. This is really easy in ASP / IIS, for example.

In your case, I would imagine that you can simply add ".html" to the requested URL and then do whatever your equivalent of Server.Transfer would be, to load the requested info.

Look at my site: — all the URLs involved are fake (actually, I made mine add .html on the end, just for the sake of the search engines); in reality, only one ASP page for the entire site, which is a 404 error handler; the fake URL names are the way the are so that Google can see them and optimize its search engine accordingly. The 404 page retrieves the in question from a fairly complex directory structure and puts the pages together on the fly, invents a URL for them and uses that basically as an instruction to itself as to what to put together… but in reality, no files with the physical page names shown in the address bar actually exist.

There are way too many errors. You need to code to XHTML 1.0 which requires closing all tags. Even the tags that have closing tags in HTML 4.01. You close these tags with a space and the "/" symbol. Like image tags:

All break tags, all meta and link tags between the head tags must be closed. Your code shows TWO opening body tags. You have the "title" tags in the body inside a div. They go between the head tags. You have an image tag between the head tags. not allow.

Anything that ends in html will send you to a web page. If your security is not current a web page can activate a program to run on your computer causing all kinds of problems. What to really watch out for is xxx.jpg.exe. They will cause problems for sure since it is a program. Since many people have viewing extensions turned off they do not see the exe. In fact the xxx.jpg.html can really be xxx.jpg.html.exe.

My advice is to go to folder options and turn on the option to always view extensions. Otherwise it is very easy to be fooled.

The only way to stop the copy/paste is to make all posts as text images which requires a good bit of php coding to posts from text to images. Or to set all posts behind a transparent gif image when posted. Another bit of PHP coding to put this in place.

Since your content is copyrighted, file a complaint with the hosting sites. Look up their contact information using WhoIs. They normally provide the Abuse Contact information.

The JavaScript "No Right-click" scripts are a waste of time. Maybe track down a server-side script for that, if one is available.

Well, it make any sense to try to include an HTML page as the source for a script tag (src actually stands for source, not search), because not a javascript document.

If I understand correctly, you want to access forms that are in another frame in the same window? Or perhaps a popup window? The correct way to do that would be to pass a reference to the document of the frame or window you are trying to access back to your document containing the javascript. For instance, if you have an iframe, and the javascript document is in the main window (called top), you would add this to the inner javascript:
